Round up for kindness

The Kindness Jar

Round up your basket and every penny goes into the jar. Each month we spend all of it on people in our community who need a hand, add some of our own, and show you exactly where it went.

Tap the jar to drop a 1p coin in.

The jar is just for fun. Real contributions happen in your basket.

How it works

Small change, kept close to home

  1. Round up in your basket

Just before checkout, tick “Round up”. It’s never more than £1, it’s always your choice, and you can untick it any time.

  2. It goes into the jar

Every round-up is tracked on its own, so we always know exactly what’s in the jar. Then we add some of our own, and ask our friends in local business to do the same.

  3. We give it where it’s needed

Each month we choose people from our community who need a hand (food, essentials, a cooker or a washing machine that’s given up) and we share here where every penny went.

Why we do it

Because community is the whole point

Eden & Earth was built by word of mouth, by people looking out for each other. When Ellie asked what our community needed, the answers were honest and close to home: food for the week, a broken appliance, the everyday things that get you through a hard month.

So we made the jar. No middlemen: the pennies you round up go straight to people who need them, we add some of our own, and we tell you exactly where it all went.

Where it’s gone

Every penny, accounted for

The jar is filling now

At the end of our first month we’ll share here exactly who the jar helped and how, with their permission.

Know someone who could use a hand?

Tell us, quietly. It can be a neighbour, a friend, or you. Nothing is ever shared without permission.
